Saving Kari's hope

Donation protected
My name is Adam Hanson, my wife Lisa and I are creating this gofundme for my sister Kari. In December of 2020 Kari went into the doctor's office feeling unwell, after a few tests the doctor told her she had a fatty liver. A month later Kari went into the emergency room feeling even worse. The doctors told Kari she had scarring on her liver and was in the beginning stages of cirrhosis (level 1) of the liver. Due to the non-concerning tone and approach of the doctors she didn't understand the severity of this condition or read too much into it. Kari started feeling better after diminishing symptoms.
Fast forwarding to June of 2022 Kari was back in the hospital with worse symptoms than in 2020. This time the doctors went into a more in-depth explanation of her situation and she started to realize this is more serious than what she was originally led to believe. Looking like what she describes as being 8 months pregnant, Kari had to have the fluid drained from her stomach for the first time. This was a wakeup call to Kari and she began making big life changes to help improve her health and condition as she was diagnosed with class B (level 2) cirrhosis of the liver. Sadly, the life changes did not stop the progression of this disease.
At the end of 2023 Kari was diagnosed with class c (level 3) cirrhosis of the liver giving her a life expectancy of 1 - 3 years without a transplant. As of now Kari is going into the hospital at least twice a week to get labs and once a week to have her stomach drained. She is working with specialists and a transplant coordinator to get her on the transplant list.

As of fall of last year, 2023, Kari has been unable to work and recently has discovered she is unable to drive. Going from a 2-income household with her significant other to a single income household it has become difficult to keep up on costs involving rides to / from medical appointments and emergency room visits, medical bills, prescriptions, utilities, groceries, housing, and other necessities. Kari has exhausted every financial resource she could muster to do this all alone while making positive changes to her own life and reaching out to help others by sharing her journey through her you tube channel at https://youtube.com/@karihanson4594?feature=shared . We are humbly asking for donations to help with all these costs. Each and every penny helps, so anything donated is very much appreciated. Even more important, we would like to ask for prayers from those willing to give them. Kari remains hopeful she will get a transplant match, beat this disease and be able to move forward helping others do the same. She also wants her kids, grandkids, significant other, and all of her family and friends to always remember her fondly, thinking of her happy and know how dearly she truly loves them all.
