In need of the Little Light

Donation protected
Hi All,

I am writing on behalf of my beautiful and kind college friend Svetlana Natarova.  To the people who got to know her she was always Svetik, which means Little Light, in Russian; and she always brings the light wherever she goes.

She is a 4'8  fearless Little Light. Svetik never missed a chance to take on a challenge. She did 10 years of competitive gymnastics, retired from gymnastics to go into professional rock climbing, got her masters in Programing Engineering, and became a mother of two boys by the age of 27! Fearless.

There is a new challenge that she is facing. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer that is painfully spreading to other parts of her body. The full diagnosis is “invasive ductal carcinoma of the righ breast with secondary damage to the liver, bone, vertebral fracture, and lymphadenopathy”. And she needs our help to recover to continue to conquer the world.

Unfortunately, local doctors in her hometown didn’t give her an accurate diagnosis early.  So valuable time was lost, while trying to schedule appointments with the doctors in the capital of Ukraine, to try to get to the root of the horrible pains in her back.

Little Light has been a great and kind human all her life and would always help others in their times of need. Like a true athlete she would not ask for help unless it was truly needed. So, I would like to pay her back with any form of kindness for her and her family and encourage others to please do so. Her boys need to have their Mama Light around healthy and happy.

The cost of living in Ukraine seems low but that is because there are not many government funded programs to help it is citizens.  For example, there is no Medicaid or government-funded healthcare.  Each citizen is on its own.

She has already gone through 5 sessions of radiation therapy to reduce the metastases of the ridge. So far, 102,605 UAH (~$3900), has been spent on examinations and treatments.  Next, she will be paying ~$5300 out of pocket for one course of chemotherapy, starting July 2d. We do not know yet how many courses of therapy she will need to succeed.

Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Fortunately, Svetik has her family and friends, colleagues and strangers that will help her to recover from this horrifying disease.  Collected funds will go towards covering the cost of the medical bills and living expenses for her boys.

If you choose not to donate, please just spread the word about my Little Light.
