Saving Lives While Drowning in Student Loan Debt
Donation protected
When his father died, a young man who is like a son to me, decided he’d become a doctor to try and save lives. While he couldn’t save his father from the cancer that killed him, or later on, his mother, from the cancer that killed her, he knew that if he worked hard, he could save other people’s fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters.
Ryan Urich had dreams of making his late father proud of him. He was newly married with a baby on the way, worked hard, and was accepted into Medical School. He didn’t realize just how expensive medical school, as well as living expenses for a family of 3 and then 4, would be.
Ryan graduated from Medical school and completed an Internal Medicine Residency program in Arizona, followed by an Infectious Diseases Fellowship in New Mexico.
All of that came with a hefty price tag. By the time he was done, he had found himself in the hole for close to $500,000 in student loan debt, with 8.35% compounding interest.
Ryan is on the front lines of Covid now at a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is tirelessly working to save the lives of his frequently critically ill patients.
While the Federal Government paused the repayment of his loans during Covid, the payments are due to start up again in May of this year! After paying alimony, income taxes and his student loan debt, even on a doctor’s salary, he has almost nothing left and is negative in cash flow at the end of every month.
I am asking all my friends, friends of my friends, friends of their friends and so on to help offset this gifted physician’s debt. He deserves a big Thank You from society instead of all the stress these debts create. He still owes nearly $380,000 in student loan debt and is drowning. He won’t be able to pay it off until he’s close to retiring. I hope you can help Ryan. He deserves it. Even a small donation will go towards paying off the principal on the loan. So please, please, please, give what you can.
Thank you,
