Saving Our Mia Arriola, Please help her walk again

Hi there and welcome to our family! Our names are Louis and Lila, best of all, meet our precious fur daughter Mia.

Six months ago, we rescued Mia from an abusive, sinister French Bulldog breeder in California. Mia was living in misery in a barren cage. She had a single purpose: to be used to breed litter after litter and then be killed by drowning by age 2.

But fate smiled upon her, granting Mia a second chance—our loving home which provided her an oasis to finally be free, and feel warmth, happiness, and love. Throughout the past six months, we’ve noticed her favorite moments are when she snuggles up against us on the couch or bed, kissing our faces and craving the warmth of human companionship. She yearns for belly rubs and gentle head scratches, showering us with unconditional affection. Little did we know that in rescuing Mia, she ultimately rescued us.

Tragically, very quickly, and unexpectedly, on Sat. June 24, 2023, Mia began shaking uncontrollably and was not able to use her back legs or walk. We rushed her to an ER but sadly, her symptoms worsened. She was suffering and became extremely weak and unable to move. By Tuesday, June 27th, a Neurologist Vet Specialist saw our video of her condition and conducted an MRI which determined she needed emergency spine surgery that same day. We were unfortunately faced with the decision to euthanize or proceed with surgery. Needless to say, it was unequivocal that we would go to the ends of this world to save Mia and continue this beautiful life she is living.

Few things blindsided us more than the news, was the significant cost of pet surgery and vet bills. In an ideal world, there would be no consideration of cost for our beloved Mia’s veterinary care or surgery, but the high price of these things was something we were not financially prepared for.

Her diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery and hospital stay have already totaled up to greater than $12,000. Beyond those costs, they are anticipating costs for special supplies that Mia will need to regain mobility, which will take 6-8 weeks. Her veterinary expenses were unexpected and are adding up to a great amount. Despite our best efforts, we need help to pay for part of her veterinary bills.

If you find it in your heart, please help donate and share what you can. No amount is too small. If you are unable to, we certainly understand and appreciate the consideration.

Regardless, would you reshare this on your own Facebook, Instagram, and any social media platform to help get the word out.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us save our little girl!
