Salaam Everyone. My name is Mustafa Alatbash and I am a Palestinian artist in Houston, Texas and I am reaching out for support to get my family out of the Gaza Strip. They have endured unimaginable horrors. Their home that has been in our family for generations in Northern Gaza has been made unlivable and they’re not allowed to return. They have lost absolutely everything and are fighting for their lives everyday. For the last three months they’ve been forced to move Four times, carrying whatever they can on their backs, moving from the North to the South trying to find safety from Israeli shelling. They are currently sheltering in the hospital in the khan youns city, with very little food and water. They’ve been told because of scarce resources they will have to move again—but there is nowhere to go. We have tried every possible avenue to get them out legally and on an exit list. However, as many of you now know, anyone attempting to leave Gaza that does not hold a foreign passport is being asked to pay between $7,000-$9,000 dollars per person to cross the Egyptian border. The goal is to relocate my immediate family which consists of six family members. Any additional funds will be used to relocate our extended family members which consists of over 60 people.

I haven’t seen my family since 2016 because I can’t leave the US.

Any amount you can give will change their lives—it will save them. Saving my family means more to me than words could even describe. If you cannot contribute I simply ask that you share their story in the hopes that it reaches enough people to save them. I have included the most recent family photo they sent me. I promise you, every dollar will be used only to get people fighting for their lives out of the Gaza Strip.
