Saving nature's weirdest mammals

Heartbreakingly, the world’s most genetically and physically distinct mammals are on the brink of extinction. We are losing the rich biodiversity that makes this planet so amazing, and once we do, there’s no going back.

 

There’s nothing else quite like the pangolin with their protective scales and highly adapted tongues, or the egg-laying spiny echidnas. Both are highly endangered, and if we lose them, we lose a piece of nature’s magic and mystery.

To fight back against the rampant poaching that is pushing these amazing creatures to the brink of extinction, WAWA is joining forces with two incredibly dedicated organisations working on the ground to help these animals.

 

There is still hope, but we need your support to really make a difference.

 

You can help keep these weird and wonderful creatures as part of our bizarre planet by donating to WAWA and helping save nature's strangest mammals.

 

Your support will help our chosen two organisations ensure that these wonderfully weird species are brought back from the brink of extinction.

 

Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife ,

- Provide emergency veterinary care for rescued pangolins

- Rescue, rehabilitate and release trafficked pangolins back into the wild

- Research illegal trafficking and threats in Laos

 

Monitor Conservation Research Society ,

- Investigate illegal trade trends in long-beaked echidnas

- Advise policy and conservation interventions

- Advocate for positive conservation action for long-beaked echidnas

 

 

In true WAWA style, we will be sharing the love, all the funds raised will be equally split between the two projects.
