Saving Saffron
Saving Saffron <3
May 2017 was the month she found us. She was very underweight and surviving the streets of Indonesia. I consulted with a Rescuer and she said some very wise words to me. ‘Rescue now, think later’ With that we whisked her away to the Vet’s had her checked, vaccinated and sterilised.
Saffron is approximately 1 – 1 ½ years old an Indonesian Dog with a cheeky and very sweet nature who still has a long life ahead of her. I want that long life to be with my family!!
The removing of her from her familiar streets was a very hard decision and one we didn’t make hastily. While she seemed happy wondering the streets, we would not be there to continue feeding her… what would happen when we left would something bad happen to her?? She now is kept safe and is extremely happy in a Boarding facility, is very well looked after and fed x2 a day so no longer needs to scavenge for food. This is where Saffron will remain until we can have her start her next journey.
Once we returned home what reinforced the decision of taking Saffron from the streets even more was the TV program shown regarding the Dog meat Trade and how they wander around Villages to find dogs to take, torture and then consume. It showed footage of a dog they shot and put into a rice bag, this dog looked exactly the same as Saffron. This Broke my Heart and I promised myself that I would do all I can to prevent that ever happening to her.
I don't know at what stage she made her way into our heart's but I now yearn to have her here with us, to join my family so I can continue to protect her, and to have her live her life in Australia. I believe she found us for a reason and I don't want to let her down.
I am a person who has no problem giving but has trouble asking for help….. I was told to suck up my pride so here I go….
The cost to Bring Saffron to Australia will be Approximately $8,000 -10,000 AUD. I am needing to ask for help to cover this cost. I will update with a break down as soon as it is all finalised (INFO UPDATED SEE BELOW ).
I will be posting regular updates so you can continue to watch Saffron’s Journey.
