Saving St. Bede School - Official Donation Page

St. Bede School is home. We are family. We are a community. We were founded in 1958, and for 65 years the school has been an anchor of education and faith formation. Although we are faced with what seems to be a mighty challenge, we are a strong, faith-filled community, who are ready to do all that we can to meet this challenge. As Isaiah 60:22 NLT, states, “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation.” We may be small, but we are mighty!

St. Bede has a long history of educating future leaders. Here is evidence of what St. Bede education is and what it means. The alumna who initiated this fundraiser, Susan Lutzke says:

"Hi, my name is Susan Lutzke, and I am fundraising for St. Bede Catholic School in Ingleside, Illinois. I went to St. Bede for 11 years and have created so many wonderful memories there.

Unfortunately, families were informed on Wednesday, December 13, that unless we manage to raise $400,000 by January 26th (44 days), the Archdiocese of Chicago will close St. Bede School. So many experiences and traditions have been created there that have helped shape the students into good and kind humans. I am now a senior in high school and I wouldn’t be who I am without my time at Saint Bede.

The funds are needed to cover the operating deficit for the next school year, which includes salaries and benefits for the amazing and dedicated teachers and staff. This isn’t the first time the school has needed saving, but it will be the last unless there is a miracle. Anything helps, even just sharing! In the event that not enough money is raised and/or it is decided that the school will be closed in June 2024, all donations will be refunded." 

Since we are a family, we have joined forces, and St. Bede School is now co-hosting this campaign. This is the official online donation page for St. Bede School. Additionally, we are adding records of all in-person donations so that you can easily see our grand total/progress with the click of a button.
