“If any saves a life, it is as if he saves the lives of all mankind” - Al Maidah, 32
I have a friend called Mustafa Awad who’s a 27 year old, young doctor, from Khan Younis. Although I feel awful that we can’t help all 1.4 million Palestinians in Rafah, I am hoping that trying my best to help him and his family evacuate, will count towards doing some good in the world. His 4 younger siblings and his parents are also included in this evacuation effort. It’s $35,000USD (approx. $47,000CAD) with a bit of a buffer for transfer and Gofundme fees reduction. And a bit extra if we can, for them to figure life out when they get to Egypt.
Mustafa graduated medical school from Sudan, and moved back to Gaza in January 2023. He was working as an intern in Al Nasser Medical Complex (mostly for free) and we all know what happened in October. He stayed at the hospital as much as he could, until it got really unsafe for his family in Khan Younis so they all evacuated to Rafah. He told me a few days ago that he’s seen enough death to last him 200 years.
The bombardment over Rafah has intensified, and they have lost a lot of friends and extended family, and have asked me to help with their evacuation because for the lack of a better term: they are scared out of their wits.
I am hoping that you can donate what you can, and spread the word although this has become a really tough situation for all of us around the world as well.
Thank you so much,
