Saving Tonic - Urgent Need for FIP Treatment
Donation protected
Hello - many people may recognize this sweet face. Tonic is my previous foster cat who was adopted into a wonderful home after many failed attempts. He was a cat that was imperfect due to trauma, but his parents immediately adored him for all his quirks, derp faces, and scaredy-cat tendencies. To say Tonic (also nicknamed Tony) hit the jackpot, is an understatement. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago Tony suddenly started getting hot spots all over his body, losing weight, and experiencing swelling in his lymph nodes. He began crashing and was rushed to the vet where his bloodwork came back with very concerning markers for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). This is a highly fatal disease that requires immediate treatment. It is treatable, but expensive and must be started as soon as possible. The treatment requires daily injections for 3 months and costs around $1400. His human parents are dedicated to doing whatever is possible to save Tonic's life however, financially this is a big undertaking. His mom even mentioned she would sell a kidney if she needed to. Though that made me laugh, I also feel the same way as I personally put so much energy into his rescue and rehabilitation. It truly saddens me to see him so weak and frail. To spare all human kidneys I am hoping to rally friends & supporters to chip in to save Tonic. Just $5 adds up quickly, so no donation is too small. Please help if you can and also share this fundraiser on social media.
