Saving Ace's Life

This is the story of a boy and his dog, but it's not just any story, because both the boy and his dog are disabled and we need your help to save both of their lives!!

You see our son is autistic and his dog is deaf, blind and suffers from seizures because he has a life threatening neurological disease which has caused water on his brain, aka Hydrocephalus.

We rescued Ace from a shelter in July, but he started rescuing our nine year old son from autism before we even brought him home.

You see our son has been in therapy and undergoing treatments for his emotional, social and behavioral difficulties for years without making progress. Within fifteen minutes of seeing Ace's shelter photo he was crying and talking about his feelings, and that was only the beginning of the miracle we call Ace!!Rescuing Ace was like opening a dam that kept our son blocked off from the world and our family, he has honestly saved our son, accomplishing in just weeks what years of therapies failed to do. Now we need everyone to help us save Ace's life, because the new world our son is now a part of will surely slip away if we can't save Ace. Ace desperately needs an MRI and Spinal Tap in order to determine how to treat him and save his life. His neurologist knows it's possible because medication has helped him to regain some of his hearing and sight, but until we know what is wrong there is nothing else that we can do for him.

Due to our financial situation we qualify for veterinary treatment assistance, but these programs will not pay for Ace's MRI and Spinal Tap. This is where all of you come in! They say it takes a village to raise a child and I believe that it will take a village to save our son and his dog. We are desperate to help Ace, he has really worked miracles in our lives and now we need your help to work some miracles in his life too!!!

We will be taking Ace to Virginia Tech's Veterinary Teaching Hospital for his testing because they have a top of the line MRI machine and then to Hope Advanced Veterinary Center in Vienna, VA for his treatments. I will be sure to keep you all updated on his progress and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all of your assistance. I know that if we work together we can accomplish miracles!!
