Saving Democracy: Cupcakes4Congress

Recently I started delivering cupcakes and mail to Congressional members and their staff and the response has been fantastic.  I live in Washington, DC and wanted to offer my services to those who wished to send a message (mail, email, treat, etc.) to their Congressional representatives.  I also wanted to show my support for those who are, in my opinion, saving democracy.  So every week for about a month I have selected two or three different members of Congress who have done an outstanding job in pursuing truth and displaying incredible grace amid this particularly chaotic and divisive political climate.   Cupcakes seemed like a lovely way to say thank you and have been enthusiastically received by every office I have visited.  There are so many members of Congress and their staff who are working long, difficult hours and this small gesture of appreciation has certainly brightened their day.  Some of the offices I have visited include:

Congressman Adam Schiff (CA) Ranking Member on the House Intelligence Committee

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA) Ranking Member of the Financial Services Committee

Senator Al Franken (MN) Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee

Senator Bernie Sanders (VT) Ranking Member Committee on the Budget

Cupcakes are purchased from Georgetown Cupcakes (buy local!) and have been a huge hit, but the cost of all that delightful deliciousness has quickly added up.  I have and will continue to dedicate several hours each week to this project and would genuinely appreciate any help you can provide.  Donate if you can, and if not, please share the campaign, but most important, look for ways you can brighten up your own corner of the world.  I truly believe that so much good can and will come out of this chaos.  It all starts with an act of love.
