James "Sweet Lee" Fuller has been wrongfully incarcerated in one of the world's worst prisons since he was 17 years old. His name was given due to his sweet, gentle spirit, and soothing voice like honey. Sweet Lee is about 6'5" tall, a "Gentle Giant" if you will.
Currently living in Louisiana State Penitentiary, aka "Angola," Sweet Lee has served 28 years of a life sentence for a crime he was wrongfully convicted of in 1996. Not only was he convicted as a juvenile, but Sweet Lee did not receive a unanimous jury conviction. This means that not all jurors agreed that he should be convicted of the accused crime.
To add, his co-defendant pleaded guilty to the crime and was released on a plea in 2006. This means that the person who accepted guilt for the crime has been free for 18 years while Sweet Lee remains wrongfully incarcerated. To this day, Sweet Lee maintains his innocence and stands firm in his hope to reunite with his family soon.
Sweet Lee turned 46 this year. He's a Virgo, his favorite color is blue, his favorite food is pizza, and he LOVES the Dallas Cowboys! He currently teaches rehabilitation courses in Angola. He is a carpenter, welder, loving brother, uncle, and son. His entire life has been taken away by a broken system.
It is time for him to receive justice! The time is now for #SavingSweetLee! Your donation will support legal fees toward his freedom from the Louisiana State Penitentiary.
Please reach out for more information about how you can support Sweet Lee until he is free. We are happy to provide proof that your donation is spent toward his legal fees upon request.
