Sawyer the pug needs an emergency surgery

Hello everyone,
We are here to ask for your help today, our 3 year old pug named Sawyer needs to under go an emergency surgery (Urethrostomy - Perineal urethrostomy is a surgical procedure that is performed on males to create a permanent opening into the urethra through an incision in the skin of the perineum.) and he needs it soon.
We brought him to the ER a few days ago 5/24/22, because he had not been able to urinate in over 24 hours and his bladder was extremely full. He was and is still in a lot of pain. The doctor was able to pass a catheter through twice to flush out any toxins, mucous plugs, mineralized urine, etc that may be causing a blockage through his urethra. We chose for him to stay overnight to monitor him but as he was sedated he suffered through two seizures in a span of 20-30 mins. This did not sit easy with me because he has never had this happen before so I informed the doctor I needed to come get him as soon as possible the next day, 5/25/22. I picked Sawyer up & the doctor informed me that if this obstruction is causing him to strain to urinate then they would need to do an abdominal ultrasound and contrast cystourethrogram to better understand where the blockage is located. Surgery can then be performed to remove the obstruction. Unfortunately, the issue is that we were not financially ready to go through with this surgery because the cost was and is way too much for us as we have already spent close to 3k because of his visit to the ER. This is the second time he has suffered through this issue first time being in Sept 2021 and this second time is the worst. They’ve given us all his medication to help ease his pain to somehow help relax his urethral muscle as well as antibiotics to fight off any infections but after just one full day of being back with us he seems to not even be able to relax. He’s always on edge and cannot even fully rest due to this issue. We’re praying that his urethral muscle is just inflamed due to the catheter being passed through twice but his doctor is recommending for us to look further to have a clearer understanding of what’s going on. We just want the best for him and we would hate to lose him due to this. He’s our best friend, he has brought so much happiness in our lives and we wouldn’t want to lose him knowing that there is someway somehow we could help and something that can help him live a more comfortable life without frequent bladder obstructions. We would really appreciate any help given to us, to help Sawyer under go the surgery that he needs. Please keep this little man and our family in your prayers. Thank you.
