Billy and Angela’s medical and memorial funds

As many of you may already know, Billy and Angela Sawyer Richards along with their good friend Wesley, and Billy’s father were involved in a horrible rollover car accident on Sunday morning when a woman ran a red light. It resulted in some physical injuries to them and most importantly, the loss of Billy’s father and Angela’s father in law Bill Richards Sr. when he was thrown from the vehicle.
Then, the same evening, their son was involved in a motorcycle accident when a truck ran a stop sign. The accident resulted in emergency ankle and knee surgery, keeping him out of work for a few months.
Obviously these are all expenses that none of them were expecting.
They’ve provided help to so many people while working in Recovery, helping Veterans through the American Legion, and just helping friends and family out when they can. Now we are hoping to help them back with some of those unexpected expenses.
Billy’s father was just recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and the accident occurred on one of their trips to spend time with him.
Sunday morning, just after breakfast with their dad, they were going through an intersection with a speed limit of just 30MPH when a woman blew through her red light and T-boned them sending them into the air.
Their car rolled front first multiple times ultimately hitting a light pole which put them to a stop. Bill Sr. was ejected from the driver side window in front of his own son and did not survive. His son was able to hold him in his arms during his last moment. He was unfortunately pronounced dead at 11:09am. He was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather. Angela broke two ribs and fractured a few vertebrae. As they left the hospital in Green Bay, they received a phone call from their son Gavin who had just been involved in a motorcycle accident at home in Savannah, GA the same day.
A truck ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of him. He was thrown 100 yards and rushed into emergency surgery. All while his parents were across the country dealing with more unimaginable news. No one is ever prepared for a day like that.
Not only was the Richards family robbed of that final year with their father, but the new life insurance policy that Bill Sr. recently purchased to pay for his funeral was not fully honored since he didn’t have it a full year yet. They still want to give him the funeral he planned for and deserved.
Bill can now spend the rest of eternity with his beloved wife Sandi in heaven where we are sure he was greeted by his parents and several friends. He will no longer suffer any pain and it will always perfect weather for golf.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and will be used towards funeral costs, Gavin’s lost wages, and any extra expenses as Angela and Gavin are still not totally mobile.
