Sawyers Chiari Malformation surgery& recovery

Hello! Im starting this on behalf of our 3 year old son who is undergoing Chiari malformation brain surgery on Jan 12th. At Cincinnati children’s hospital. So to help get things together for his surgery and to help gather everything we will need at home for his recovery which will be 4/5 days at the hospital and then the road to full recovery at home which all depends on how he does, unfortunately there could be a short period of regression so we are trying to prepare for anything that comes our way. Sawyer also has other health issues and sensory difficulties so we are hoping things go smoothly.
During this time my husband will be out of work for 4-5 days which will take a huge hit to the paychecks. And then missing work for follow up appts in Cincinnati. We also have three other children at home who need our attention during this time also.
So we are just reaching out to ask for help from the community during this difficult time to help prepare for surgery and the road to recovery as we have no idea what’s to come.
Sawyer is a sweet, loving little boy who loves to run, play, have fun and most of all get dirty & throwing around the football with daddy and brothers. He loves hugging and giving mommy kisses.
For those who don’t know what Chiari Malformation is:
it’s a condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal, present at birth. It occurs when part of the skull is abnormally small or misshapen.
which causes many symptoms, muscle weakness, painful headaches, dizziness and much more. Attached is Sawyers MRI which shows his chiari is overlapping his spinal cord causing decreased fluid to his brain. *circled in the yellow*
