Say NO to a 5-storey Apartment Building Nia Falls

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO OUR CAUSE!
We are raising funds to hire a lawyer, planner and consultants to fight an Appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT).
Since 2003, our neighbourhood has made numerous trips to city hall for different by-law amendments, regarding a parcel of land 6259-6293 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls.
In 2008, with the agreement of neighbours, developers, and city council, a by-law was passed for the building of upscale townhouses.
Currently, a developer plans to erect a large 5-storey, 74-unit apartment building, of which we are strongly opposed. This is an intrusion of our well-established neighbourhood. We have serious concerns regarding traffic congestion, privacy, infrastructure, home values, preservation of the current trees, species at risk, and many more.
At the city council meeting, the councillors sided with us and unanimously denied the application for a zoning by-law amendment, to allow the development to take place.
We are not anti-development. We are supporting the right development in the right place. It just doesn’t fit!
We are still in favour and welcome the construction of upscale townhouses.
