Say NO to One Earth Solar Farm

Hi, my name is Martin Oates and I'm fundraising for the Say NO to One Earth Solar Farm Action Group.

One Earth Solar Farm is a front company for a multinational firm, planning to turn 3,950 acres of prime agricultural land primarily in Nottinghamshire, into a monstrous solar farm. The solar farm would connect to the National Grid at High Marnham substation.

This company would appear not to have considered any of the alternative options for solar power available for this area, for example, brownfield sites, domestic rooftops, commercial building rooftops, and wind power.

The loss of nearly 4,000 acres of quality agricultural land on 60-year leases, will be a huge blow to the nations ability to produce food for our own population. Given the difficult geopolitical situation around the globe, it is vital we secure our own national food production as part of our national security.

The impact on our local communities will, arguably, be incalculable! The solar farm will blanket the following local heritage villages, including North Clifton, South Clifton, Thorney, Newton on Trent, Ragnall, Fledborough, Darlton and Skegby.

A project of this scale will have profound negative impacts in the following areas:

The environment and ecology

Flora and fauna

Pollution

Leisure activities including walking, trekking, cycling and horse riding

Personal health, and in particular mental health

Noise

Road safety and traffic management

We need your help to prevent the destruction of nearly 4,000 acres of prime agricultural land and countryside, that will otherwise be lost to future generations.

The Say NO to One Earth Solar Farm Action Group, will use your donation to help prevent this monstrous project from going ahead.

Funds will be spent on protest literature and printing, questionnaires, surveys, protest roadside banners, legal advice.
