Say THANK YOU to Benjamin “Saxophone Man” Purdy

Hey everyone!

 

We posted a tweet with a video of Benjamin Purdy playing his saxophone prior to the last Jaguars home game against the Atlanta Falcons on 11/28/21. We’ve always called him “saxophone man” and learned today that his name is Benjamin Purdy. There was a heartwarming article about him in the Florida Times Union from 2016 that folks sent us, which we will link below. A lot of us grew up going to Jags games and seeing him playing outside the stadium. We’d love to raise money to give him a gift card and perhaps a big note with all of the kind words you’ve all had about him, whether you sent to us on Twitter, on e-mail, or on here. We’re also sort of hoping this brings attention to him so that the Jags organization could feature him in some way at a future home game. Please consider contributing. This is our first time organizing something like this, so feel free to shoot other any comments, question, or suggestions. We’re open to any and all ideas. Ideally, we’ll run this until we hit our goal of $1,000, or until 12/15/21, which will give us enough time to get everything together for him before the next home game on 12/19/21.
