Say Yes to Y.E.S.!

Tax deductible
For 10 years, Kathleen Walsh, a Philadelphia School District teacher, has been running the Youth, Engineering and Science summer enrichment program using her own income!  Each summer, over 300 Philadelphia youth have had the opportunity to learn inquiry-based science and engineering in recreation centers all over the city.  Kathleen has come to the end of her personal resources and we don't want to see Philadelphia kids lose this program!

Not only is the Y.E.S. program helping young people love science and engineering and dream about being engineers and scientists some day, but they are growing the next generation of STEM teachers by mentoring and developing both undergraduate and high school students through their internship model!  How often do you get a chance to impact the career trajectory of students at so many levels!

Because of the amazing work that Kathleen has done over the years, the Philadelphia Regional Noyce Partnership is collaborating with them by providing the funding for undergraduate interns from Community College of Philadelphia to participate this summer as part of a National Science Foundation program.  But to continue to do the excellent program that Kathleen and her team have always done, they need funding to support two additional master teachers,  a facilitator for the cultural competency component of their intern training program and six high school interns.  YOU can help make this happen!  Say Y.E.S.!
