#SayHerName:Protect Black Women March
This rally/march is created, executed, and centered around Black Womxn. The funds for this event will go towards both supplies needed to make this event successful and we will be donating the funds to organizations that support Black Womxn including supporting the families of Black Womxn impacted by police brutality. Over the years, the stories of Black Women & Black Trans Women have not received adequate national media coverage and attention. We will honor their lives and demand justice for Black Womxn. The stories of Black Womxn often go unheard and those who commit acts of violence against Black Women & Black Trans Women are often not arrested and justice is not served. Our theme is based on the quote by Malcolm X that states ““The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.”
The Washington Poor People’s Campaign in conjunction with local Black youth organizers will be holding a march specifically for Black Women/Black Trans Women on Saturday, June 27th located at Othello Park 4351 S. Othello Street Seattle, WA 98118 at 2pm.
