Saying Goodbye to Connie on Sanibel

Our beloved mom, Connie Michele Carver, 67, passed away Thanksgiving Day due to complications from liver disease. Almost exactly one month before, we lost Connie's sister, Lori Byerley. Lori was an inspiration to us all and passed unexpectedly. We lost a truly pure soul that day and had no time to grieve before the passing of the matriarch of our family. We have never experienced a loss like this.
Mom fought like crazy and i often teased her that she has nine lives. She fought like a trooper and never complained even though you could see the pain in her face. She was such a kind and loving woman! To honor Connie's wishes, we would like to hold a short ash scattering ceremony in the Gulf of Mexico, off of Sanibel Island. We would like to take the entire family and many of her friends (Connie's village)for this trip to place Connie in her final resting place. Steve, Connie's husband of 47 years, is battling Parkinson's and deeply grieving, this will provide closure not only our dad, but for the entire family!
Many friends and family have asked how they can help support our family during this time. If you feel compelled, the family has a travel fund set up under Connie's name. These funds will be used to take Steve and family to say his final goodbyes, as Connie takes her last swim....
We are forever grateful for the love and support we have been shown already! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
