Saying Goodbye to Kirby - Vet and Memorial Help

Hello I'm Avedon, and this is, or was, Kirby. He was my roommate, adventure partner and best friend. Recently he had not been doing so well, having trouble standing up and walking without falling over. Being extremely anxious for his condition I took him to the vet and after what seemed like a positive diagnosis and treatment plan (minus some extras that we couldn't afford to pay that day) we left feeling hopeful of his recovery. Sadly this was not to be. A few days later Kirby lost most of his motor functions, appetite and ability to comprehend where he was. And then just like that, he passed away at home. I'm grateful that I got to spend his last moments with him at his side. Spending the day at the places we spent the most when he was younger.

I rarely ever ask for help. Had I not gone to the vet and spent so much I probably wouldn't have thought twice to do this. But given the amount we had spent on care and treatments that sadly barely got used and coupled with the upcoming cremation and memorial services I thought I could reach out to those who Kirby may have reached and touched at some point or other.

I'm hoping to collect what I can to pay for the recent vet bills along with the costs of cremation and memorial services of turning his ashes to stones. It was our plan to one day scatter these stones at all of Kirby's favorite places as a marker of how much they meant to both of us.

Kirby inspired me to live better, to live life to the fullest. He gave me courage. He was my emotional support pal. And through him I was able to reach many others with the art he inspired. So I hope that in some way if anyone is able to help him and I move forward, it would be greatly appreciated. I think if you met Kirby, you'd know he remembered and loved everyone for taking the time to get to know him.
