Saying our goodbyes to Melanie McLellan
Donation protected
Saying goodbye to Melanie was so very hard. It’s something we never want to do, but God had His plan for her. We all did get to enjoy our last Thanksgiving meal together before things took a turn for the worse.
Melanie suddenly went into anaphylactic shock about thirty minutes after we ate. She suddenly was bent over, and we had no idea what was wrong. We were asking questions, and she stood up and walked around, and maybe within two minutes, she was facedown on the floor in the bathroom, not able to breathe. It hit hard and fast! Within moments, her eyes, nose, and mouth were all swollen, she was purple, and it was getting difficult for her to breathe. We called 911, and then within a couple more minutes, we were doing CPR on her. Paramedics arrived and took her to Northside Cherokee Hospital, where they gave her five more epi injections and Benadryl with no response at all. She had also gone into cardiac arrest at least two more times. She was quickly put on a ventilator and transferred to ICU. After about four hours, we were able to go see her and talk to her. Even though she never woke up or responded to us, I feel like she could hear us.
In just less than ten hours from the call to 911, the doctor eventually called us all in to say goodbye when they had tried everything possible to help her. With an epi drip and still no response, blood was really thin, swelling of the brain, low blood pressure, low immune system, and a lot more that I don’t remember, she passed at 8:05 am on 11/29/24.
Melanie was not married and was on disability from many other illnesses that she had been battling with. She didn’t have any life insurance or savings. Her two boys, Austin and Brandon, and her parents, sisters, and other loved ones would like to give her a funeral with a viewing with cremation. We would appreciate any amount of donation to help us with this. And of course, we are taking prayers for the days to come as well. The love and prayers we have already received have been such a blessing. Thank you all for that.
