Laplace Interstate Rescue Dog
Donation protected
On Friday, April 17, 2015 a motorist on side of I10 spotted an injured dog laying in the swamp under the bridge. Louisiana State Police were notified and officers from Troop B contacted Captain Brandon from Cajun Pride Swamp Tours. They immediately jumped into action. After walking a half of mile through the swamp, Captain Brandon and the officers used a rope ladder and ice chest to make a basket and hoist him back up to the interstate. The dog has a severe leg injury and is full of puncture wounds but was happy to show love to all who helped save him. He was taken to the St. John Animal Shelter where it was determined his injuries were more than they could handle. He is being transported Monday to Furry Friends Animal Hospital in Harvey where he will receive the medical care he needs and then he will go to Jefferson SPCA located in Elmwood where he can eventually be adopted. All donations will go to Jefferson SPCA for his care. He is a very sweet and lovable dog considering all he has been through. All donations are greatly appreciated to give this boy a second chance at life he deserves.
