Dej’s road to recovery

Hi, my name is Deja but i’m also known as Dej. I was involved in a car accident Sunday afternoon, on my way home from work. While I was driving, I was abruptly cut off and unfortunately was not able to completely stop in time. After I was cut off, my car flipped twice and skid on top of the roof. I was lucky enough to get myself out of the vehicle and only walk away with a broken wrist on my right hand, broken knuckle on my left and a few bumps and bruises. Not only am I extremely lucky that my children were not in the vehicle, I am also extremely grateful to still be here.

Unfortunately, my car was completely destroyed and totaled. As most people know, I am a mother to twin toddlers Jace and Drew. This has been extremely difficult on my family, support system, and importantly me. I have to undergo surgery, miss work, and the worst part is not being able to take care of my babies. As a result of my ample injuries, I will undergo extensive orthopedic surgery to correct my injuries (bilateral surgery on both of my hands) as well as spending several months in rehabilitation therapy to gain my physical strength and mobility back. This entire ordeal leaves me unable to work and provide for a period of time.
