Helping Eric recover

Our friend Eric Schindling needs our help. He was hit by a car while walking his dog near his home and it left him with a shattered leg that took 8 hours of surgery to correct. He has been bedridden since then and unable to work or take care of all the small chores we take for granted. To add to his plight, his sweet dog buddy died at the same time he was having his surgery.
Eric now faces mounting medical bills and is several months behind in rent. When the moratorium on evictions is lifted, he may well be homeless. He has started the process to recover medical costs and liability fees from the insurance companies. However, as most of you may know, this is a long process with the payout uncertain and months in the future. He needs help now to pay for his rent and utilities that are due by the end of December, your donation will go directly to that need.
I have known Eric since the 70s when we both attended, in the loosest sense of the word, KU in Lawrence. He was an energetic force of artistic effort and creativity then, involved in both visual and performance art. Eric particularly made his mark as a musical impresario. He produced and promoted little known bands who soon became nationally known. When Eric was excited about something everyone knew about it and took notice. Chances are you went to a concert that he was involved in.
Eric’s energy has not diminished, and he is beyond frustrated with his unfortunate circumstance. Your donation will help alleviate a lot of worries
and help get him back to being the creative force he has always been. He and I will be immensely grateful to have the peace of mind your help will bring.
