Sarah Geo and Bradford's Baby Homebirth

Donation protected
Friends, Family, Loved Ones and Community, we are caught in a loophole and are seeking your help! We both work full time and both have insurance, but currently the State of Oregon does not cover Homebirth or Midwife Care.

Forget new clothes, forget fancy toys, forget a frilly baby shower, this is really where we need your support. Homebirth is a necessity for us because it will allow Sarah to be able to have the baby in her own home where she feels the most safe and secure, while allowing Bradford to take a larger part in being as supportive as possible.

A team of professional, experienced midwives are going to guide us through this natural process. Of course, if necessary, they will transfer care to a hospital and work as support there. Our wonderful midwives are giving us a discounted appointment and birthing fee due to not being covered by insurance. We will need to pay them the full amount by our 36 week date.

Homebirth/midwifery has a c-section rate of 5.2% for all births, compared to 31% at hospitals nationwide. Midwifery also produces much less tearing and episiotomy and has a better breastfeeding success rate, on average, than hospital care.
Natural birth generates a release of chemicals in a womans body that generates an inseparable bond between mother and child.

Our wish is to do whatever we can to welcome our new child into this world in a healthy, happy, and natural way. If you can help, in anyway, make that wish come true, your support would be extremely appreciated and forever cherished.
