Behavioral & obedience Dog training classes

Hello everyone! I am looking for help to raise money to get Gunther to training classes. I adopted Gunther last year around this time & he will be 2 this Christmas. He is a very sweet, smart boy, with all the love to give! He loves cuddles, belly rubs, of course treats & bones! However, he is very high energy & loves to jump like tigger or a kangaroo . Unfortunately he is also really reactive (but also protective or me) towards strangers & will bark, growl, or has even lunged at a few men trying to enter the home. Adding together his size, strength, high energy levels, & his reactivity, walks were an impossible task for me. So his only form of exercise was running around my (fenced in) back yard; but then we circle back to his jumping & barking when the neighbors are outside. And while he’s inside he loves to play with his little brother, Maveric, who is a corgi. But as you could imagine with the size difference, rough play isn’t on fair grounds. Which means I don’t leave then unsupervised together, which also means they are kenneled both while I’m at work & at night sleeping, which adds up to 17+ hours a day. I wanted more for Gunther so I looked into rehoming & had even brought him back to the “rescue” I got him from, that however ended up with me in a full blown panic attack of tears.. here’s why: when I brought him back to the “rescue” that I got him from (that had a “no dog left behind” program) they told me they wouldn’t accept him back. I was asking a bunch of questions & they proceeded to belittle & barade me saying things like, “I know it’s easy to take the easy way out & try to just dump him off here, but you need to take the responsibility of finding him a home yourself”. They also said they wouldn’t take him due to his behavioral issues & the fact that he had a bite record. All of which happened before or during their care. They told me IF they took him back they would just euthanize him. When I asked about their “no dog left behind program” & why he couldn’t just be put on that list the women said it’s only for dogs who have been there for a long time. She also said it would be easier for me to find him a new home than it would be for them because they have more dogs, even though they have a much larger platform & outreach (and it’s their job). After about a half hour of Trying to talk to the women I gave up & left with Gunther, sobbing. I was exhausted & trying to find Gunther a better home than I could provide with more time & more energy but in return I was shamed & told they euthanize him. I text my Mom & Sister on my way home & they called to check in, when I answered the phone all they heard was me hyperventilating & crying. My sister went over there shortly after & asked for Gunther’s records & any paper work I had signed. Turns out he had an extensive bite record on multiple accounts & was placed in bite quarantine & was returned/transferred multiple times before I got him. All of which was not disclosed to me during our meet & greet or adoption process, nor did I sign anything showing that this information was shared with me. Through my sister I found a dog training that specializes in reactive/behavioral dog training & said he is willing to work with us! He has a month long on-board training option &/or a once a week for 5 weeks training program. It is expensive but I think it is worth it! Gunther is a good boy who loves to love & wants to be good, I think he was just very mistreated as a puppy & has reacted out of fear. ❤️‍
