The Orangutan Crisis

Orangutans are dying as Indonesia burns..
Indonesia has been hit with catastrophic fires travelling through parts of Sumatra and Borneo, one of the last standing inhabitants left for wild Orang-utans and other rare species. The fires are thought to be deliberately set by Palm oil companies, which employ slash-and-burn agriculture to clear land of native trees to plant their cash crop, which is used as an ingredient in everything from food to cosmetics.
Orangutans have more to fear than just the fire. The flames and smoke are pushing them out of their already reduced habitats and closer to human villages, where the adults are killed and the young apes are sold into the pet trade. In the past week, International Animal Rescue saved one such young orangutan, Gito, who had been kept in a cardboard box and left in the sun to die.
Two more young orangutans were repatriated to Indonesia this week after they were rescued from smugglers at the airport in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Orangutangs are desperately needing human compassion, so its our opportunity right now to start making a positive difference on the lives of these beautiful animals. The saddest and worst part about this devastating situation is and still remains are that these fires were human inflicted.
That somebody who decided to start these tragic fires had a choice, but the ones calling that land home had no voice and they are the ones suffering from simple human ignorance.
As an animal lover myself, I feel so helpless in this situation. So this is why I decided to start a go fund me profile. The profile is designed to help raise money and the money raised will be directly sent to 'The Orangutang Project'- http://www.orangutan.org.au/program/safeguard (Please read further and find out just how important your donation is)
Your donations will be deeply appreciated, and through everyone's efforts I know we can make a significant difference for the lives of these Oranguntangs still facing these horrific bush fires.
Please share this, and get your friends and family on board. Your money is going to a great cause, because it's best to act now before it's actually too late...
