Scarlet Arsenault
Donation protected
Two weeks ago, the lives of the Arsenault and Small families were deeply affected by a diagnosis of their 10-year-old daughter, Scarlet.
After days of excruciating back pain and missed diagnoses by her pediatrician's office and orthopedist, she was taken to Yale Hospital ER. Scarlet was immediately admitted, and testing began. After many tests and 2 MRIs, it was determined she had an abscess the size of an orange on her spinal cord.
She had emergency surgery to remove the mass and, as a result, developed a blood infection. After seven days in the hospital, she is now home with a PIC line in which she will have to have antibiotics administered 24/7 for 4-6 weeks.
I have been a friend of this amazing family for over 30 years. They are always the first to give to anyone in need. Tiffany and Adam are both self-employed and usually pay out of pocket for all of their medical needs. These surgeries, the at-home nursing care and medical supply bills will come hard and fast. It is time for them to be on the receiving end.
Please help them with this ongoing battle. Scarlet will have to have many months of therapy. During these trying times, any and all donations are greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.
Thank you,
Trish
