Scarlet Oak Farms: Shelter Dogs FOREVER HOME
Tax deductible
Who are we?
Scarlet Oak Farms is an approved 501(c)(3) animal sanctuary operating in eastern North Carolina. The foundation of our work rests on the dream that one day animals will no longer be killed in pet shelters. Our focus is taking some of the shelter’s “unadoptable” animals to our sanctuary and providing them with refuge and a place to heal. We are committed to proper care, rehabilitation, and patience to help these animals transition into their forever home with us!
In 2017, our local animal shelter alone took in 1430 dogs and euthanized 484 or 33% of those intakes. That's averaging 1.3 dogs a day being killed in one shelter. To date, Scarlet Oak Farms has rescued 26 animals (dogs, cats, and chickens). Still being in the start-up phase we are very much in need of both financial assistance and building materials to get our facility up and running.
Our objective is to grow our organization by assisting animals in the surrounding Pitt County area and provide the community an outlet for "unadoptable" animals to find a forever home at Scarlet Oak Farms. We plan to continue our focus on dog rescues with additional aspirations to branch into larger livestock in the future. As Scarlet Oak Farms grows, we will prioritize economic development by creating internships and part-time positions to meet operational demands.
What will the funds be used for?
We need to expand! The funds from this campaign will go directly towards building a new facility (fully insulated) to rescue more animals. This new building will be custom fitted to house approximately 12-15 dogs, to start, and will be properly heated and cooled for optimum comfort. Any assistance is greatly appreciated and TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We can't do it without you! We have already spent over $30,000 out of pocket for veterinary bills alone. Imagine how many more animals we can rescue with your help!
Although we are a young organization, we believe that collectively we have the experience, savvy, and diversity to allow Scarlet Oak Farms to grow and flourish. While we are mindful of not overextending ourselves, we are looking forward to expanding in the future as resources allow.
Here's a few ways you can help:
Please give thought to donating to our campaign plus share it with your friends and family. Our campaign can be shared on Instagram, Facebook, via email, or even through text message! The power of "word of mouth" is incredibly powerful!
If you believe in our mission and want to join our movement to end the need for euthanasia in pet shelters consider joining our Patreon @scarletoakfarms.
