Scarlet’s Emergency Vet Bills

Hi! My name is Nikki and I’m Scarlet’s mom. Anyone who knows me, knows that my dogs are the most precious things in my life. I rescued Scarlet through Fly With Me Animal Rescue 2 years ago. Scarlet is from Georgia, where she was used as a breeding dog for her first 6 years and then discarded at a high kill shelter. When I got her, she was a scared, timid little baby who just wanted to be held, but over time has turned into the happiest, sweetest, most adorable girl. She is so precious and special. I don’t like to ask for help often, but Scarlet and I had a very scary weekend. Scarlet began vomiting large amounts of blood, peeing puddles of blood, and having tarry black, bloody stools on Friday. We went to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with HGE- hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. This was a medical emergency and she required an overnight stay with IV fluids at the AVC hospital. Scarlet’s total bill ended up being $813. Luckily, Scarlet seems to have made a full recovery. She is on antibiotics to prevent any infections, pain medication and a bland diet. She’s totally back to herself and we are beyond thankful to AVC! However, I have a lot of bills coming up at the end of the month and this has made quite a dent in my account. I’m hoping to cover some of the costs associated with Scarlet’s care. If anyone can donate or share this link, I’d appreciate it greatly! Thanks so much!
