Scholarship Fund for CGS 2022

Deducible
The Coast Geological Society (CGS) is a professional organization that promotes interest in geologic work problems in the Coastal California area.

Each year, alongside Pacific Section AAPG, we provide a scholarship program for students that awards those outstanding students pursuing a geological science or related degree at local community colleges and universities. Participating schools include Santa Barbara City College, Oxnard College, Ventura College, Moorpark College, California Lutheran University, UC Santa Barbara and UC Northridge.

Due to COVID restrictions, we have not been able to hold in-person meetings or any fundraising events for the past two years. Students need scholarships more than ever! Many students rely on part-time and hospitality jobs that have been devastated by the pandemic.

We have set up this Go Fund Me page to raise funds to help our future geologists and continue a 50-year-old tradition. Any amount helps, and your contribution is meaningful during this difficult time. Please help us reach our goal of $4,000 to help support our future geologists!

If you would prefer sending a check, please make checks payable to Coast Geological Society and mail to:
