Scholarship Opportunities For Black Youth
Donation protected
Youth Advocates for Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission space to amplify youth voices through intersectional social justice issues and creative arts.
Our founder, Tiana Day, began organizing for Black Lives Matter in 2020 at age 17. She founded this organization to inspire youth to get involved in activism and use their identity and passion to create change. She says: "It wasn’t my K-12th grade experiences that made me fall in love with education but the real-world opportunities I had created for myself and others through Youth Advocates for Change. I fell in love with education because of the skills I was learning from the other students and I realized so much of what I learned in school wasn’t representative of my identity as a Black woman. Once I began to see myself in the work I do, that's when I truly discovered my passions. This is why our first project as a nonprofit was creating this scholarship fund for Black youth and Black futures."
Last year, we raised to $25,000 and awarded 5 incredible Black students in August 2022 with scholarships at our inaugural banquet. This year we hope to continue to grow this fund and invest in the futures of Black youth. Your donation is an investment in the futures of the future of Black changemakers who will be using their education to uplift the community. We believe community, solidarity, allyship and mutual aid will create more equitable opportunities in education. Join us and become a part of the change.
Thank you!
