Scholarships For Needy Children's Music Lessons
Tax deductible
European School of Music is a non-profit educational organization that will, in 2023, celebrate 30 years of providing high quality music education for children in the Atlanta metro area. We need your help to donate money to our scholarship fund for needy students. This is why we set up GoFundMe as one avenue for contributions. Any amount will be welcomed. We are very grateful for each contribution that we have received or will receive as it helps children to be exposed to music learning that will benefit them greatly throughout their lives.
Currently at European School of Music we have children from a number of families who either are not able to continue with their music lessons, or have not been able to start giving their children lessons because of their financial situations. For example...
We have an African American single mother family with three children. Mother barely affords piano lessons for one daughter. With your help, her sister could take lessons too as she has been asking her mother for lessons for a long time.
Another family has 5 children. We started teaching the oldest daughter with half tuition. This is the only amount the family can afford. But we do not have enough funds to continue to do so, nor for her brother who wants to take lessons too.
Two siblings, who were able to take lessons for a second year due to our scholarship fund which includes your contributions, had much success. One of them, Sebastian, had great results at All State auditions in violin, even though it is only his second year of studying violin. He is promising to become an excellent violinist, practicing several hours a day and following teacher instructions thoroughly. (Recent legal immigrants, the father is working as a baker. Mother has no job.) We need more funds to ensure that he and his sister can continue to study.
Tuition for one month of weekly individual lessons is $140 for younger children. For older children who take a longer lesson, $170. There are ten months in the school year. Any amount will be welcomed. The funds we receive will be applied completely to the tuition for these needy students. And any others that could not take lessons otherwise if the funds are available. All donations are tax deductible.
European School of Music (The Conservatoire, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit education organization established in 1993. We have had a number of students who graduated from ESM and became professional musicians. (A concert pianist, college music professor, Hollywood composer, opera singer, orchestra conductor and organist, to name a few.) Others developed a love for playing music even after becoming MD's, lawyers and business professionals. They say that the lessons at European School of Music not only developed quality music skills to play or sing beautifully, but also helped them to better succeed in their careers. Here is a link to an article where some of our alumni and parents talk about how big a role ESM played in their lives. https://www.mdjonline.com/neighbor_newspapers/northside_sandy_springs/education/european-school-of-music-and-chess-marking-years/article_78a639f6-a4c2-11e8-ae17-e380a44966d3.html
Our teachers are very dedicated and compassionate, and are highly trained music instructors and performers. Most have been at ESM for a long time, some for over 25 years. They appreciate the opportunity to give back what they received from their extensive music and pedagogical training. We feel we are one big music family, and treat every student as being part of that family. We want to help more children become part of our music family - with your help.
Many many thanks for your donations and support!
