Hi, my name is Paige and I am fundraising for the New Horizon Special School in Accra, Ghana. As I am ushering in my 30th birthday in June 2024 in Accra, Ghana, I can think of no better way than to give back to something I'm passionate about: quality and supportive education for children with special needs.
The New Horizon Special School was founded by Mrs Salome François in 1972 and has been legally registered as a voluntary, non-profit making, and charitable institution with the Ministry of Education. The school provides day school education for 6 to 18-year-old children and vocational training and employment for adults (18 and over) who have intellectual disabilities. There are currently 101 students between the ages of 6 to 63 years.
1 year of tuition at the New Horizon Special School is $2,000 USD per year. My goal is to raise money to provide 5 students with scholarship money for one year of tuition. Your contribution helps students to reach their full potential as the school provides a well-rounded education and teaches life skills to all students. Adults enrolled in vocational programs engage in kente weaving, batik dyeing, basket weaving, and bead making. The items created are sold in the School Shop and 50% of the proceeds earned go back to the students for them to build income.
Scholarships will prioritize students in need who deserve a chance at a quality education. Please consider donating a minimum of $25 to this cause! However, any amount is welcome!! All funds will be given to the New Horizon Special School for scholarships. We appreciate all contributions and well wishes to support the New Horizon Special School.
