School fees for Perfect and Princess
My name is Ida.
I am the founder of Let Them Help Themselves http://www.lethemhelpthemselves.org a community regeneration charity working to alleviate poverty in rural communities in SW Uganda.
In the course of my work, I came across Perfect and Princess. They were three years old and their father had died a year and half earlier. I have had the pleasure of watching them grow into confident teenagers.
They had four older siblings and had no hope of going to school because their mother could not afford to send them.
My friends and I stepped in but by year three, I was on my own and continued to pay the girls' fees. The girls are 12 years now and in their last year of primary school.
I have contemplated ending the sponsorship when the girls finish their primary school because the fees for six years of secondary school would stretch me financially.
On reflection, this would be a terrible outcome for the girls. They would leave school without the necessary skills to secure their future. Besides, these girls are academically gifted. It would be a shame if they were unable to realise their academic potential.
Therefore, as a goal for 2019, I have committed to fundraise six years worth of school fees for these beautiful and talented girls. This would see the girls continue their secondary school education for six years or until they complete their A'levels. The money raised will cover school fees, clothing, food, healthcare and extra curricular activities.
Donate and be part of Perfect and Princess' amazing journey ... it will blow you away
