School of Dreams: Empowering Education (Zanzibar)

Donation protected
Join us in making dreams come true!

Our journey began in 2019 with a humble classroom in a marginalized village in
Zanzibar. Against all odds, dedication and passion allowed us to expand our school
capacity to four classes by the end of 2022. Now we are proudly offering pre-primary
education to 200 students with fewer opportunities in a mission that was believed to be
impossible someday. Now we need your help to take it to the next level...

The education system in Zanzibar faces immense challenges. Many children in rural
areas lack access to education, while existing schools struggle with overcrowding,
inadequate resources, and low-quality education. Gender inequality and financial
barriers further compound the issue.

Through a 5 hectares area of land that would be home for a cumulative community
service project and out of our sincere belief in the transformative power of education to
shape brighter future, we are introducing “The School of Dreams”

Location: Jendele Village, Zanzibar.
Objectives: Build 8 Classrooms and complete volunteer dormitories by
September 15, 2023. With an estimated budget of $96,000.
Target Area: Kusini Unguja district, encompassing six villages: Jendele, Kibele,
Chwaka, Hanyegwa, Cheju, and Dunga.
Beneficiaries: 600 primary students, 300 youth and women annually, as well as
teachers and staff members.

Imagine the impact of providing education, training, and job opportunities to those in
need.

Why “ The school of Dreams” ?
● Statistics reveal that approximately 50% of children in their villages are not
enrolled in any school, leaving around 475 children without access to education.
● The existing schools suffer from overcrowding and lack of quality education
according to lack of resources.
● In the afternoon, the school premises will serve as a training center, empowering
youth and women with valuable skills for the labor market.
● The school will foster a holistic approach to education that extends beyond academics as following:
  • International volunteers will organize enriching extracurricular activities fostering personal development and future potential.
  • With a special emphasis on sports and arts, we provide a nurturing environment where every student can explore their passions, develop their talents, and unleash their full potential.
● We firmly believe in equality and inclusivity, ensuring that all students regardless their gender or background have equal opportunities.

How do we ensure sustainability of the project ?
The school is more than just infrastructure; it represents our commitment to creating a
sustainable model that can be replicated throughout Africa. Over the past four years,
our professional staff and international volunteers have laid the groundwork in one
village. Now, with your support, we are ready to expand. Our project is overseen by a
dedicated board of directors, including internal and external members, along with a
robust network of former volunteers and current partners eager to contribute.

How You Can Help
● No matter the amount, your contribution will make a significant difference in the
lives of children and their families.
● Spread the word and be a catalyst for change! Together, we can create a ripple
effect of awareness and support.
● Join us on the ground and make a tangible impact by volunteering in the
construction of the "School of Dreams", whether you are skilled in construction or
simply have a passion for making a difference.

Don’t forget to leave an inspiring message for the children on our memorial wall. Your
words will uplift and make a lasting impact on their lives. Together, let's create a legacy
of love, hope, and dreams fulfilled.
