School supplies for Detroit families in need
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Brilliant Detroit, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
I invite you to check out this news article in the Detroit Free Press from September 29, 2020. It talks about how many Detroit families are currently struggling to support their children in going back to school during the pandemic given the additional associated costs.
Brilliant Detroit will use the funds raised with this campaign to purchase technology and supplies for Detroit families who have kids schooling virtually from home. So many items are needed: printers, ink, and paper, desks and chairs, headphones and microphones, white boards, markers, calculators, rulers, pens, pencils, crayons, etc.
Brilliant Detroit currently serves 7,000 kids and parents/caregivers through eight locations in different high-need neighborhoods throughout the city (with four more scheduled to open later this year). All of the locations (with the exception of their headquarters in Southwest Detroit) are formerly abandoned homes that they renovate and then open as community hubs where all of their programming takes place.
