School Supplies for Farmworkers Children

On August of 2020, the country witnessed farmworkers working through a pandemic, heat waves and hazardous fire smoke to continue putting food on our tables this is what it took for the country to realize how essential these heroes are, and the truth behind their lives. As wildfires broke records across California, farmworkers were asked how the community could help them, their response was the need of back to school supplies for their children as the school year was approaching. It reminded us how important education is to migrant communities, and how educational opportunities play a big role in the reason these farmworkers work hard long hours, to provide their children with better learning opportunities and a brighter future so that their children don’t end up working the same hazardous fields. Now in 2021, farmworkers continue to be the lowest paid labor force in America. With 1 in 3 farmworkers struggling with food insecurity, when there's hungry mouths at home it's hard to provide their children with the basic school supplies needed to assist them along in their educational path.

 

So this year we are back, and this time we are going to farm working areas we didn't distribute supplies to last year, so children who have not received a backpack in the last year, have an opportunity to get one this year.

 

If we exceed our goal, we go to the next farm working town and distribute however more backpacks we can make based off donations!

 

These donations will be deposited to 501(c)(3)'s nonprofit Celebration Nation Inc's bank account, where it will be relocated to purchasing school supplies and the operational costs associated of transportation and storage for these efforts. These school supplies will then be distributed in Rural farm working towns in California for 1,200 children of farm workers in need to support their community with the educational tools they need to thrive.
