School Supply Giveaway for Worcester Students

Greetings!

My name is Nana Osei Tutu Brempong, and I am a young and aspiring Ghanaian entrepreneur born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. By God's grace, I am the founder of The Chalé University Foundation, which stems from the clothing brand, fictional school, and movement, Chalé University.

At Chalé University, we embody the three pillars of harmony: peace, unity, and kinship. As Psalms 133:1 says, it is indeed "wonderful and pleasant" when we all live in harmony, and that is the main focus of our movement.

Last year, we were blessed with the opportunity to host The Open House and provide school supply packages for over 200 students in Worcester, MA. This year, we aim to double that number, reaching more families and touching more lives as we host the second annual school supply giveaway, The Open House ‘24, on August 10th!

From personal experience, it was exciting to go back to school, but it wasn't very exciting to go supply shopping when money was tight. The idea of my mom having to purchase four different lists always worried me because school supplies weren’t cheap, and she always wanted to provide my siblings and me with the best. Over the years, many friends and peers shared that they also faced this issue when we were younger. From that point, I knew we had to make a change and help families out. To combat this issue directly, The Open House is an event that aims to provide students with the tools they need to kickstart their success this school year.

At Chalé University, we believe that education is a fundamental right that should be accessible to all children, regardless of their economic or social background. However, the reality is that many families struggle to meet the financial demands of basic school supplies. As a result, children often start the academic year without the necessary resources, which can significantly hinder their learning experience and dampen their enthusiasm for education.

To address this critical issue, The Chalé University Foundation has taken the initiative to organize this annual event and invest in the bright future of our city and our children. Our goal is to provide FREE school supplies to students in need, giving them a chance to start the school year on an equal footing with their peers.

The Open House will offer many resources, free food, activities, & games to get the kids excited to start a new chapter in their academic careers. Students will also have the opportunity to select from backpacks, crayons, colored pencils, markers, notebooks, and much more—all for FREE!

Of course, an event with such a large goal wouldn't be possible without the proper funding. Therefore, we are asking you to extend a gracious hand.

Financial Contribution: Your generous financial contribution of any amount will allow us to purchase a wide range of essential school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pencils, and more, ensuring they last the school year. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a tremendous impact and empower a student to excel in their studies. We ask you to give with an open heart.

In-Kind Donations: We also welcome in-kind donations of new and unused school supplies. If you or your company have surplus supplies or can help source them, your contribution will directly benefit students in need. For in-kind donations, please contact us for more information!
