Schuk's journey back to joy

Hello! This is Shawn(many of you know me as schukie). Most people who know me know I'm a vibrant and joyful ball of energy. Unfortunately over the last year my health has taken a serious decline. I haven't been very open about my health struggles but I suffer from fistualizing perenal crohns disease. The disease ravages my body, digestive track and skeletal structure. The past year I have really hit a wall. My bladder is in failure and my body isn't absorbing anything. I'm currently in the hospital undergoing extensive tests and treatments. They are doing genetic testing as they feel something more serious is going on. I have shifted my care to Portland which is 2 hours away form where I live. I will be living with tpn and various medications and also will be using mobility aids to help get around easier. Funds donated will help with expenses to make my home accommodating to my new life in recovery as well as transportation to apts and supplies and medicine for treatments as their very expensive. I have always had a hard time reaching out for help but with this newest scare I realized I need to humble up and reach out. All fund will be used to ensure I have the best opportunity to make a full recovery. Things I will need once I'm out of the hospital are a small fridge to store my tpn supplies, mobility aids for mornings and day to day living and co-pays for meds as the meds even after insurance a very expensive. I will need to travel back and forth from Portland at least twice a month. Funds will also help with bills for general living expenses. This is a humbling experience and a learning one.
