Hello,
We are the Schultes. We got married in March of 2021. We immediately started trying for a baby. We tried for 6 months before getting my first round of blood work just to make sure my body was ready to host a little one. All my tests came back perfectly healthy.
By the end of the year, Bret took a test to make sure his swimmers were doing their job. All tests came back healthy. So we kept trying.
I decided to get an HSG scan done to check both of my fallopian tubes. We were told I had a damaged fallopian tube and we needed to have it removed and do IVF if we wanted to get pregnant.
We then were told we had a less than 5% chance of getting pregnant naturally. This was all in March/ April of 2022. We found a company called OMA Fertility out of Atlanta that does IVF. We have decided to move forward with IVF. Our friends in Texas donated a lot of medications this saved us a lot of money for the egg retrieval.
We were approved for a $9500 loan for the egg retrieval.
We spent an additional $3250 for the Embryo transfer.
As of Feb 14th we had our egg retrieval and have 16 eggs!!!
I had to have surgery to remove a Fallopian tube before we could move on to the transfer portion. $6000.00
We do not have typical heath insurance. We have Medishare. We paid for 90% of the surgery out of pocket.
Our first embryo transfer was not successful.
We are going to be doing another embryo transfer before the end of 2023. $3400
Our goal to not be in debt before our child arrives. Our medical expenses have added up to around 22K so far.
We are reaching out to friends and family to invest in our future. We are fully trusting God that he will continue to blow our minds with a smooth process.
