Launch Emerging SciFi Writers with Omega Awards!
Tax deductible
The Omega Sci-Fi Awards inspires young and emerging science fiction writers in DOZENS of nations and in high schools ALL ACROSS Los Angeles!
Now we're BACK with four awards: THE ROSWELL AWARD for original short sci-fi by writers age 16+ from around the world, the FEMINIST FUTURES AWARD for feminist sci-fi -- also from around the world, THE TOMORROW PRIZE for original short sci-fi by Los Angeles County high school students, and THE GREEN FEATHER AWARD for eco-themed sci-fi by LA students.
Much more than a competition, we open doors for writers of all backgrounds to write stories that are unique to them exploring how we relate to one another, to our world, and to our future.
DEMAND for our FREE L.A. high school classroom sci-fi writing workshops and our soon to be launched writing workshops and panels for emerging talent worldwide is rising and we need your help to make it all happen!
Every donation you make will help us bring the Omega Sci-Fi Awards to more young and emerging writers and nurture these blossoming talents!
A nonprofit program of Light Bringer Project and Sci-Fest LA, we are entirely funded by community support. Donations will make it possible for us to:
* Connect with teachers and host fall writing workshops for Los Angeles teen writers.
* Host writing workshops for emerging sci-fi writers across the US and around the world.
* Extend our outreach to continue to raise awareness of this opportunity.
* Manage our nearly 100 volunteer judges who are writers, scientists, and more.
* Host our culminating celebrity readings of the top stories.
And more!!!
Tomorrow Prize finalist, high school student Chelsea See, and Actress Jasika Nicole (FRINGE).
