Scooter for Gun Violence Victim Renay Jackson
Donation protected
Renay Jackson was shot by an AR-15 machine gun while sitting peacefully on her West End porch. She is now relegated to an electric scooter for her mobility.
Sadly, her scooter died today. We are raising funds for a new scooter.
48 shots rang out within 5 seconds and Ms. Jackson, not the intended target, fell to the ground in agony. Taken to the hospital by ambulance, doctors said removing the bullet and fragments would cause more damage than leaving them in.
Now, Ms. Jackson lays at home awake all night, every night. She gets very little sleep. She suffers terribly from PTSD and anxiety.
“I desperately need a new scooter. I can’t move or do anything without my scooter. It’s the only way I can go anywhere in my apartment or in my community”, said my Jackson.
Neighborhoods United continues to assist gunshot victims while working to End Gun Violence.
