Hello! My name is Lauren Spinelli and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my parents. As some of you may know, 2 years ago my dad was in a motorcycle accident. His Harley Davidson landed on his leg, completely crushing it. Over the last two years my dad has been in and out of the hospital, with some stays lasting as long as a few months. He has had TEN surgeries on his leg. Yes, you read that correctly. TEN. He's had metal placed in his leg, the metal removed, multiple infections, blood clots in both his arm and leg and was on a 24 hour antibiotic IV drip that my mom had to administer everyday for months. The blood clots had forced him to have THREE more surgeries on his arm. 13 surgeries total and unfortunately for him and our family, that is just the beginning. Soon my dad will have to go through 2 to 5 more surgeries. The first 2 starting at the end of this month. They will be removing his knee and fusing his leg together. The doctors will be taking veins from the other leg to reconstruct the veins on his broken leg. They will be taking tissue and muscles from other parts of his body to add back into the leg and he will be on bed rest for at the very least 2 months. After a year of therapy, the doctors are hopeful to do a knee replacement and who knows how many surgeries that is going to take. My dad is the breadwinner of the family and my mom still works full time. My parents could use the support of their friends, family and community in this time of need. Medical expenses are adding up incredibly fast and are becoming completely overwhelming for both of them. My dad has been through so much over the last 2 years and he's the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off of his back. He has always done his absolute best to provide for us as kids and for his friends and family. He is the strongest man I know. Anything at all will help.
