Scott’s first scan is costing us $1100 out of pocket, and this is just the beginning…..

Hello everyone, in early February my father, Scott Bennett of Rising Sun, MD was diagnosed with cancer again 9 years after ringing the bell for defeating cancer.

The last time Scott had cancer, my parents did everything they could to make ends meet while also taking time from work to transport him to & from all of his radiation and chemotherapy treatments. During this time he was not able to work.

This time by, we wanted to be prepared for the hardships that may follow during this journey so, I have made this GoFundMe to help this time around with all of the bills/items requested by Scott during this time.

5/1/24: Scott had surgery to remove the tumor from underneath his jawline area in his neck. He was in surgery for 3 1/2 hours starting at 730am. During this procedure, the doctor made us aware that he may have issues with his tongue because they had to slightly cut a nerve (that controls 2/3 of his tongue) to remove the tumor. He has a scar almost all the way across his neck, and his speech is slightly impacted. He is working with a speech therapist.
