Thank you for giving this a look...it's not that fun to look at the realities... and everyone has a challenge.
This is the challenge of losing my daughter's dad (Scott Brooks 8/15/77 - 6/9/21) suddenly in a car accident on June 9th 2021.
He left behind his partner of 11 years, Alexandra, his two daughters, Veda age 3, and Charlotte age 17 (my daughter); and both parents (Susan and Robert Brooks of Newport News, VA). Scott and I were friends but separated 14 years ago.
While we wish this time was just for grieving and remembering, it's also a really crumby and expensive obstacle. It sucks. At the moment, there is no insurance. We maaaaay have a small benefit from the car insurance policy - which won't even be reviewed for weeks and it just doesn't look promising. With that said, this is just a really sad bummer, and there are expenses that we can't fund or delay.
Alex is a stay at home mum and Scott's was the sole income. With that said, we need to get her and Veda (the 3 yr old) several months rent, as Alex gears up towards working and placing Veda in childcare. They also need help replacing the car lost in the accident.
What they need help with now:
A car:
The car accident has left Alex and Veda without a vehicle and we need to get them mobile again. Steamboat Springs is a mountain town in Colorado and it's basically essential to have a 4-wheel drive with a young child.
Rent:
Alex has been staying-at-home to raise and look after Veda. Scott's was the sole income for the household. Alex and Veda need assistance paying rent for few months (while she grieves, care for Veda, and searches for work).
Mental Health support:
If we can achieve the basics, we'd love to use some financial support for counselling for the family (including Charlotte (Scott's 17 yr old daughter with me) - this would be extremely helpful, too!)
