Scott Cantalupo was known for fabulous outfits, deeply passionate faith in God and dedication to the LGBTQ community. Scott's smile and character brightened a room! Scott loved family above all, biological and chosen family. Scott lived life with authenticity, never hiding or censoring who Scott was. Scott's example and passion made a deep impact on those who encountered Scott in life.
Scott was a fierce advocate for those living with HIV, having lived with HIV for over twenty years in Scott's own life. While HIV could not take Scott's character or spirit, it did take a toll on Scott's body. Scott passed away on May 27, 2018.
Because of Scott's medical circumstances Scott and Joe were not able to legally marry, fearing loss of insurance to cover medications needed to care for Scott's health. Lack of legal marriage has put Scott's spouse Joe in a situation where he is not considered entitled to any of Scott's retirement or pension, there was no life insurance policy, and there is no help for Joe to cover expenses.
Scott's family asks that you consider making a donation to honor Scott and help provide a peaceful final resting for Scott.
